Stopping Time

Every time we take a photograph, we permanently freeze a moment in time. But what makes that moment worth returning to? Everyone has a stack of old photos in their closet, collecting dust. Or more likely, a hard drive filling up with digital snapshots. My aim with this blog is to help others create memorable moments, instead of dusty stacks (or gigs) of forgotten photos.

My favorite time for taking photos is while travelling. What better time to snap away than when your in a new place? The key to taking memorable photos while travelling is to find "moments". Instead of just firing away at anything that moves, be patient and look for funny moments, or unusual people. This statue I shot in Paris was helpless against the pigeon on his head. I'll always look back and laugh at this, and remember that day in Paris. Don't be afraid to include your travelling partners in the picture as well. Nothing is more boring than a thousand photographs of scenery from your last vacation...get your friends and family in there!

I hope this blog can be helpful for others. I will post tips and tricks for taking unique photographs, as well as my ideas and thoughts on photography in the world today. There are more cameras out there than ever before, thanks to digital photography, and I don't want to see dusty hard drives full of boring photos!

Shoot!
